Katy's older east side

Barker Reservoir and the rebuilds
Barker Reservoir was built in the 1940s to protect downtown Houston from flooding. During Harvey, water held back in the reservoir rose into neighborhoods on its upstream side, including homes that had not been considered at risk. Many were gutted and rebuilt, and their kitchens and laundry rooms went back in new.
So a house from the 1980s may now have a kitchen from 2018, installed quickly by whichever contractor was available that year. In those rebuilds we sometimes find shortcuts: foil dryer duct, water lines without shutoff valves, dishwashers never fastened to the counter. We point them out and fix them along with whatever you called about.
