Appliance Repair in West University Place (77005)

The 77005 ZIP includes West University Place, its own small city surrounded by Houston, together with Rice University, Rice Village and the residential streets nearby. West U was laid out in the 1920s and filled in through the 1940s with modest cottages and bungalows.

Over the last several decades, a large share of those original houses have been replaced by much larger two-story homes built to the edges of their lots. Today the ZIP is mostly newer construction, with some original houses still standing.

Newer West U kitchens are usually designed around built-in appliances: column or built-in refrigerators, panel-ready dishwashers, wall ovens, steam ovens and pro-style gas ranges with heavy grates and multiple burners. These need to be pulled and reset without marking cabinetry or stone, and several use parts that have to be ordered.

Laundry in these homes is almost always upstairs. A slow drain, a failed door seal or a split fill hose on the second floor can damage the ceiling below, so on every upstairs washer call we look at the drain pan, the hoses and the shutoff valves.

Ice makers, water filters and refrigerated drawers round out our common calls here.

Tell us the model when you book so we can check parts availability first. For homes under renovation, we coordinate with the contractor on site.
