Southern Alief
77099 covers the southern part of Alief in far southwest Houston, around West Bellfort Avenue near Beltway 8. Alief grew very quickly during the late 1970s and early 1980s, and most of its single-family subdivisions and many of its apartment complexes date from that stretch.
It is one of the most diverse parts of the city, and its housing is as varied as its residents: modest brick tract homes, larger two-story houses and sprawling apartment communities with many buildings apiece.
When the garage became a room
Some Alief houses have had their garages converted into living space over the years. When that happens, washer and dryer hookups that used to be in the garage get moved, closed in or left behind a new wall.
Converted setups are where we find the most installation problems in 77099: dryer vents stretched through long runs of thin foil duct to reach an outside wall, washer drains tied into lines too small for them, and outlets extended from the old garage circuit. The appliance may be fine and the setup around it may be the fault.
We look at the installation before recommending parts, and we tell you plainly when a problem is plumbing or electrical rather than the machine.
Visiting in 77099
Apartment communities in Alief are large. Include your building and unit number, and a gate code if there is one.
Visitor parking at the bigger complexes can be a long walk from some units, so tell us if there is a closer spot we can use.
Our 90-day parts and 30-day labor warranty applies to every repair.
