Appliance Repair in South Houston along Mykawa Road (77048)

77048 sits in south Houston below South Park, reaching toward Beltway 8 between Martin Luther King Boulevard and Mykawa Road. A freight rail line runs along Mykawa, and the land near it holds warehouses, yards and light industry, with residential streets set back on either side.

The homes include single-family houses from the postwar decades and some newer construction on land that stayed open longer. Lots tend to be a little larger than in the neighborhoods closer to the Loop.

Refrigerators and freezers shed heat by moving room air across their condenser coils. In homes near truck routes and industrial yards, fine dust builds up on those coils faster, and a clogged coil makes the compressor run hot and long. A warm refrigerator in 77048 is often partly a cleaning problem.

We clean the coils on every cooling call and check the condenser fan while we are there. If your refrigerator or freezer sits in a garage or utility room that stays open to the outdoors, we will suggest how often to clean it yourself.

Dryers pick up the same problem from the other side: outdoor dust mixed with lint clogs the exterior vent hood sooner than you might expect.

Trains on the Mykawa line can hold up crossings, which is one reason we give an arrival window and call ahead if we are running late.

Tell us if the refrigerator or freezer is outside the main house. Garages and sheds are common spots for a second unit on these larger lots.

Every repair carries our 90-day parts and 30-day labor warranty.
