Suburban streets behind the office campuses
77077 lies south of I-10 in the Energy Corridor, roughly along Eldridge Parkway, Dairy Ashford and Westheimer, with Buffalo Bayou and Terry Hershey Park to the north. Office campuses face the freeway, but most of the ZIP is residential.
Most of the single-family subdivisions and townhome communities were built in the 1970s and 1980s. Along Westheimer and the larger roads, there are many apartment complexes from the same period and later.
After the 2017 reservoir releases
During Hurricane Harvey, water released from the Addicks and Barker reservoirs kept Buffalo Bayou high for days, and some neighborhoods near the bayou flooded. Houses that were rebuilt got new kitchens and laundry equipment at the same time. Those appliances are now old enough that several of them can start failing within a few years of each other.
If your house was not affected, the appliances are more likely a mix of ages from separate replacements. In both cases, we look at the model and its age before recommending a repair.
Garages, attics and heat
Many houses from this era have the washer and dryer in the garage, which puts them through Houston summer heat and humidity. A garage dryer with a long vent run and lint buildup will take a long time to dry a load, so we check the vent when that is the complaint.
Every repair carries our 90-day parts and 30-day labor warranty.
