Appliance Repair in Sunnyside (77051)

Sunnyside was established in the early 1900s as a place where Black Houstonians could buy land and build, and it remains one of the city's oldest African American communities. Around Cullen Boulevard, Bellfort Avenue and Reed Road, that history still shows in the lots, many far larger than a typical city parcel.

The houses are a mix. Small frame homes from the middle of the last century stand next to brick houses and new infill construction, and many families have held the same property for generations.

Many older Sunnyside houses sit on pier-and-beam foundations, and decades of Houston clay swelling and shrinking leave those floors uneven. Appliances notice. A refrigerator on a floor that slopes toward the front may never quite close its doors, which leads to frost, sweating and a compressor that runs all day.

Washers show it during spin. On a floor with some give, a machine can walk, knock and trip its out-of-balance sensor. Before replacing suspension parts or sensors, we level the washer carefully and check whether the floor under it flexes.

Dishwashers under older counters are affected too. If the tub sits out of square, the door will not seal and water escapes along the bottom edge.

Let us know if the appliance is in an addition, on a back porch or up a few steps, so we come ready for the space.

Plenty of households here keep an older appliance running because it has served them well. When the part is still made, we will fix it rather than steer you toward a replacement.

Our standard 90-day parts and 30-day labor warranty applies to every Sunnyside repair.
